Since 2011

"Jackie", born in Rochester, NY., has three brothers and one sister - all of whom still live in New York.  She moved to the Atlanta area in 2000.  In her spare time Jackie enjoys making candles and doing needlepoint, as well as taking care of her many pets of eight cats, three dogs, a guinea pig and a hamster.  Jackie said her most rewarding activity has been the six years she devoted to rescuing cats.  In all, she rescued approximately 100 cats (mostly kittens that had to be bottle fed).  Jackie was able to find homes for most of them and the ones she couldn't, she personally adopted.

Why she does this:  "I have always wanted to work with animals.  They have been the best part of my life.  My very first job was at a veterinary hospital at age 16 and I have continued to work with animals ever since".
